We are seeking a new Grower Accountant to join our Yakima office. Applicants must be dependable, detail oriented, self-motivated, and willing to help drive continual process improvement among the Grower Accounting team. This is a full-time salaried position with seasonal volume increases during harvest and at year-end.

Position directly reports to: Controller

Responsibilities to include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Entry and auditing of data pertaining to grower contracts, grower blocks, pool ID, bin receipts, etc. from various sources.
  • Responsible for periodic reconciliation to external and affiliate grower documents for product packed or shipped to outside warehouses.
  • Prepare and distribute daily operational reports.
  • Process invoices and record cash receipts.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly AR reports.
  • Process and maintain records of grower advances, pool estimates, and pool closing.
  • Maintain and update various inventory styles, labels, and varieties.
  • Reconcile grower statements to the general ledger and financial documents.
  • Help develop and maintain periodic management reports to identify profitability by commodity by grower for Senior Management.
  • Communicate effectively with growers, field personnel, accounting, receiving, shipping, and production staff as needed.
  • Maintain and provide documentation for various audits (organic, customer, financial, etc.).
  • Perform special projects and assignments as directed.

Ideal candidates will have the ability to perform the above-stated responsibilities as well as possess the following skills, education and/or experience (a combination of same may be considered):

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting or relevant major a plus or a combination of education and relevant work experience
  • Experience/employment history in agricultural accounting
  • Two to three years Grower Accounting experience.  Cost Accounting experience a plus.
  • Experience in FAMOUS software preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Highly organized and ability to meet tight deadlines with little or no supervision
  • Attention to detail with accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred
