H2A Facilitator Job Description

Title: H2A facilitator- Company-wide

Schedule: Full time, with some weekends included. Hours vary throughout the year.

Supervisor: Sarah Rasmussen

Maximize the Program’s Full Potential

Gilbert Orchards, Inc.’s H2A program has been in place since 2018 and has continued to expand and evolve since then.  We are looking for a self-motivated person to help facilitate the H2A program so it continues to be successful from year to year.  By maximizing the potential of the H2A program we help ensure that we have a successful growing and harvest season.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Monitor H2A housing and inspect on a regular basis as appropriate or as assigned
  • Oversee repairs in houses and coordinate cleaning, restocking/ordering supplies
  • COVID-related testing and care: arrange testing clinics, help arrange for vaccinations, help arranging COVID care such as nurse visits, quarantine logistics, etc.
  • Arrange group activities and projects for H2A houses such as soccer teams, group gardens, etc.
  • Help with H2A contract paperwork and hiring paperwork
  • Assist with inspections and audits related to H2A- LNI inspections, DOH housing inspections, etc.- and help implement any corrective actions
  • Attend necessary trainings and safety meetings
  • Coordinate onboarding process including but not limited to house rules, safety, group shelter, direct deposit, new hire trainings, Social Security appointments, and room/crew assignments.
  • Maintain regular contact with H2A groups
  • Communicating best practices between all H2A locations
  • Standardizing Gilbert Orchards, Inc.’s H2A operations throughout the company
  • Assist in the development and application of an employee evaluation process

  • Able to research rules and requirements
  • Some computer skills needed

Applicant must be:

  • Fluent in Spanish, some knowledge of English
  • Experience working with H2A preferred
  • Able to work in a team and independently when necessary.
  • Able to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Some heavy lifting may be required.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and be approved to drive
